Now im not going to lie before last week if anyone had said to me “Jon, I think a Citroen would be perfect for you as it is quick, fuel economic and has plenty to brag about” I would have straight out accused them of lying but that’s because I had never experienced a Citroen DS3.

Now being a car salesman I have a certain amount of knowledge on cars anyway and I get to experience some of the nicest (and also some of the not so nicest). So when I was told by Emma that we would be receiving a Citroen I was a little skeptical as the only car I thought would be anywhere near suitable for someone my age and lifestyle would be a Saxo and well they have been around for years.

It was only when she informed me it was something called a DS3 that it got me puzzled and I did some digging.

The first picture I saw of one was a black one with a black roof and it looked very nice!

Although it was only when the car arrived on my drive that I could really appreciate the amazing good looks it supported! I’ve been known in the past to say that black is my favourite colour for a car…well again that all changed when i set eyes on my DS3. Here is what I came home too :

Safe to say upon first impressions I was both impressed and excited!
It has a beautiful modern body shape and the fact it was bright yellow only added to its greatness!
Of course I had to drive it straight away and after positioning myself nicely on the full leather seat I set off and the first thing I noticed was the main display.

The Main Display

This display has a couple of different modes and you can change it to show what you need.
It can show :-

The Sat Nav Directions

This brings up the map and when you have the sat nav set up has an arrow on it you of course can have this mode on when driving without sat nav and it will tell you where you are!

The Music Info

Depending on what music you have playing this display can differ you can have the radio information or the cd information etc it makes it very easy to pick and change stations.

The Fuel Consumption Display

This is a very handy mode as nobody wants to run out of fuel and this tells you exactly how much you have left until empty! It also shows how many miles to the gallon you are doing which is good to know too as it allows you to know how much fuel you will need for specific journeys! This feature allowed us to view that we could easily get 45 mpg which is excellent for a petrol!

Now obviously I was very excited to drive the DS3 so I rushed off without exploring many of the features. After reversing off my drive I put my foot on the accelerator and all I can say it WOW! for such a small car it is mightily fast! It was packing a 1.6 petrol so I didn’t expect it to be slow but the acceleration on it was just phenomenal for the type of car it was.
I only took it around a few local streets and then onto the bypass but even then I noticed that it was also an incredibly smooth ride, I tackled a few speed bumps and a bumpy road and wasn’t in any discomfort for any of it!
When I had arrived back home I had time to explore some more of the features this car had to offer.

On The Inside

Cruise control

I’ve never owned a car with cruise control before and never really used it properly (I’ve played around with it at work) and it’s quite possibly the best feature a modern-day car can come with it makes driving long distances a breeze! We had to drive to Hampshire and fir those that know there roads this includes plenty of motorway action and cruise control allowed me to blast down cruising steadily at 70 without having to you touch the pedals

Speaking of the pedals check these out!

Not only do they look good but they have put you a matching rest pedal (for those times when you are using cruise control! :] )

Next Is The Music Control Stick

This control allows the driver to adjust the volume, change song/radio station, let’s you choose what music source you listen from (radio, cd etc)
This is incredibly convenient as it means the driver doesn’t need to take his/her eyes off the road when changing anything!

The Bluetooth Phone System

This again is being used in a few modern cars these days but I think in the day and age we live in it is a necessity and if you don’t have one then it means going out to buy one and they are not cheap these days and some can be temperamental/confusing but with the DS3 I just connected by phone to the cars Bluetooth and away I went! You get little speakers and mics placed around the car for excellent sound and a clear line. It even gives you a selection of ringtones to choose from! Now I’m not going to lie about the next thing it puzzled me for about an hour and then when I looked in the manual it seemed obvious! It was….

The Built In Air Freshener

Now this is something I’ve never ever seen in a car before (and I’ve seen quite a few) but what a great idea! Once I had figured out what it was and how it worked there was a lovely smell about the car that was enough to be noticed on entry but not overpowering.

The Room For A Car Seat

As you can see there is plenty of room in the back for a car seat (it comes with iso fix too) and when the front passenger seat is in a normal driving position Oli still has lots of room to dangle his legs.

The Temperature Controls

This feature allows the driver or the passenger to adjust not only the temperature but also where the air blows, switching the air con on and off and also the buttons to de-mist the front and rear windscreen. The final part of this feature is that you can set it to auto which adjusts the fans etc for you!

The Sporty Looking Dials

I don’t need to say much about these except for how awesome they look!

Finally The CD Player And Mode Buttons

This is the feature with all of the buttons you can access the setup, the volume, the radio, the cd player etc.
This is also the cd input area and if you can’t decide on what cd to listen to no matter! Just take advantage of the 6 disk cd changer!
If iPods or Mp3 players are more your thing then why not plug yours into the aux port (with an aux cable) and enjoy!

To The Outside!

The DS3 supports some very distinctive features! Which not only make it unique but also the sporty little super mini it’s supposed to be.

The LED Lights

Now obviously the DS3 isn’t the first car to have these lights but my god doesn’t it suit the car is gives the front a fierce look about it. They only come on when the main beams aren’t on which is fine although I do think it would look pretty awesome with both on.

A Great Car Needs Great Alloys

What you are looking at is a gorgeous 17 inch bellome alloy wheel of course the DS3 comes with 4 of them and they look fantastic! (please ignore the dirt in my picture that was my fault :D)
The White alloys go perfectly with the roof which brings me on to my next point.

Contrasting Body/Roof Colour

One of the main features that Citroën offer for the DS3 is that you can have a contrasting body/roof colour. I had yellow and White with White wing mirrors too! And personally (and all of my friends) I think it looked incredible and even though in the past It wouldn’t have been my first choice it’s now definitely up there with my top choices!

Now anyone with children will understand the need for boot space and from the outside you may have your doubts about this car but when it came to putting the pram in I was a bit worried but all of my fears were laid to rest when it just slid in and fitted snuggly!

So that’s it about the physical features now for a bit of technical info!

The car has a top speed of 130 mph and if I had somewhere legal to try to achieve this I have no doubts it would have been easily done!

It does 0-62 mph in 7.3 seconds which is amazingly quick for a car like this!

Mine was a 155 bhp petrol (although you can get both lower bhp and a diesel engine)

It’s only little by being 3948 mm in length and 1715 mm in width!

So there you have it there is my review of the Citroën DS3 sport (in bright yellow) I would thoroughly recommend this car to anyone and everyone (as long as you don’t need a people carrier/7 seats! 😀 ) I have really enjoyed my 7 days driving the DS3 and if I had the chance (and the money the version I had retail at about £15,900 but completely worth every penny)

I would like to give massive thanks to Citroen and Performance PR for sending us the Citroen DS3 to try out and review.

Man Flu September 20, 2010

The title pretty much speaks for its self for this post but its something that invades my household on a regular basis!

It might all start with that much-needed trip to the park or maybe a visit to see some friends, you wont know it straight away you might even survive for a week before that first cough/sneeze/cold sweat etc these are all symptoms of the nasty disease that is manflu!

Now a lot of you will know that having young children pretty much entitles you to catch every contagious illness going and man flu is no different. The current case (yeah I know im a soldier im battling through to blog about it) started about 4 days ago when one of Oli’s friends got a red nose and a bad case of the sniffles.

Typical Man Flu Germs

A day later and i am playing with Oli on the floor and to my horror what do I see?….. a red and runny nose! it was then that I knew that there was no chance of me avoiding it. Over the next couple of days oli got a slight cough and gave a sneeze now and again which wasnt too bad considering some of the man flu cases we have had in the past!

So like a fool i tricked myself into thinking “oh it wont be that bad” how wrong I was!.

It was saturday at about 13:18 (I remember it well) and as I get up to get a drink from the kitchen I notice my joints are a little achy but again like the fool I am I just kidded myself and blamed it on “sleeping funny”. A little while later Oli was trying to attack our blinds (the things hanging in the windows not the people who live round the corner who can’t see) I went to say “No Oli bad!” but as I finished the phrase what can only be described as a dogs bark like cough left my mouth!

It was at this point I knew this wasnt going to be an easy man flu case like originally thought! as the day progressed the cough got worst & at about 17:37 I let out an almighty sneeze!

After being nursed by Emma (by nursed I mean she made tea, cleaned the house and dealt with oli) we watched a film and went to bed. The next morning I felt wonderful! all of my pains had gone I didn’t feel tired and I had a strange sence of goodness about life!…..and then the dream ended and I woke myself up by coughing.

I felt dreadful! my body ached i could barely move without saying ouch, I had coughed that hard I had pulled a muscle in my chest so breathing was a difficult task, my nose had turned into a quick flowing river and my head appeared to have a set of active bumper cars whizzing around inside it!

I dragged myself downstairs and positioned myself on the sofa and lay there feeling sorry for myself whilst Oli ran riot around the living room. Emma came down after a nice 3 hour lie in (yeah see i can be nice) and yeah I was pretty much in the same place…..

Some people say that the only thing that you want to do when your ill is sleep but for me that’s not the case when im ill I find it very difficult to even rest my eyes let alone catch 40 winks!

This then leads on to me being tired and grouchy which when you add the illness is not a good me!

So after my day of feeling sorry for self and being waited on hand and foot I managed to crawl upstairs to my bed (the one that tries to hurt me) I then toss and turn for a while and eventually fall asleep.

To which brings me to this morning now unfortunately I have just had a week off work and today is the day we have an auction so the likelihood of having a sick day is pretty much slim to none. So like the trooper I have been so far…… I grabbed my work trousers ironed my shirt (badly) and headed off.

Strangely being busy sort of took my mind off being ill! although in the back of mind I knew that my nose was 2 seconds from becoming that river again! so I sniffed my way through they popping paracetamol as I went and made it home!

So here I am finishing this post and I can honestly say im on the mend I know its been a struggle and that im not in the clear yet but the finish is in sight!

So there you have it my latest experience with the “deadly” man flu of course now Emma has a cough but I just say that’s women flu which compared is a breeze! 🙂

I hope you have enjoyed my ever so slightly exaggerated post on my illness!

Laters!……ACHOOO!

My Bed Tries To Hurt Me! September 18, 2010

Everyone loves a big bed with a nice bouncy mattress and I am in no way different I just wish I had one!

Now don’t get me wrong I do have a bed me and Emma have a nice looking double bed with a pine headboard but nice looking is about as far as it goes.

We got it about 14 months ago and I remember the day well.

I was really excited as I love that “new bed feel” all springy but soft at the same time and this bed was no different once i had managed to get it upstairs followed by the mattress I then figured out where it would look best in the bedroom (although as I am a man this was of course wrong). I then threw a fresh quilt over it chucked a couple of pillows on and it was beautiful!

As a few months went by the sleep continued to be as beautiful as it was from the start but then one fateful day I had to reach to get some thing from the top of the airing cupboard and was stood on the bed trying to reach it when “CRACK!” after falling of and nearly catching my head on the chest of draws I quickly examined underneath the mattress the wood has nearly broken in half!

Once i had put the mattress back on to see how it looked there was an obvious dip on my side if the bed. it wasnt too bad to sleep on it didn’t cause a large amount of discomfort but it was defiantly noticeable.

After another couple of months of sleeping on a slope I started to notice something poking me. Yes the springs were coming through the mattress! now this was quite uncomfortable!

The last thing you want poking you in bed is a spring! 😉

So trying to lie around the springs slowly puts the mattress out of shape and now it looks more like a small mountain range than a mattress!

I know what your thinking and yes it probably did contribute but I probably shouldnt go into that on here 😉

Also im guessing that a lot of you are thinking “why don’t you just go out and buy a new one?” well have you seen the prices of beds and mattress’ these days?? im sure they were like £5 when I was a kid. Now you can get a half decent one for as cheap as £100…….. haha yeah right!

My Dream Bed

We have talked about saving up for a new one but every time we start to another financial crisis comes up and we have to sort that out (im pretty sure im not o my own with this).

So when I go to bed now I face the wrath of the springs, the fear of falling of the sloped mattress and going through broken wood!

I’m beginning to think my bead may be dying a slow and painful death. I guess I should start saving for a new one! Cue the next financial crisis!

Im a ninja! September 16, 2010

So again another blog flash back or “blogback” as I like to call them.

*A quick apology to say there’s no pics in this one but as soon as I have some I will post some :)*

This time to 2 weeks ago when, on my lunch at work I’m browsing the internet to pass the time and I come across an advert at the top of one of the web pages.

Now I don’t usually take much notice of adverts but this one caught my attention quite well.

It was for a company based in London advertising kickboxing training and after a few clicks I was on there website reading away about the benefits of learning kickboxing.

Well I have to say I was impressed just after reading the intro! It started a little something like this…….”are you looking to get fit? More confident? Do you want sharper reactions and a skill that will stay with you for life?” now by this point I was screaming yes!! Yes I do to all of those things!

It was only at this point I realised this company was in London so I went about looking for something more closer to home and after another few minutes of browsing I found a company that operates in the town I live in! Result!!

The company was called MSD and after a brief look at there we site for prices locations etc I was emailing Emma telling (asking) her that I wanted to go!

Thankfully she liked the idea and agreed we could afford the monthly payments of around £50.

The next available session was a week after I had discovered it due to the bank holidays so I counted down the days until it finally came!

I arrived with a colleague (minion) from work dressed in tracksuit bottoms and a tshirt ready to fight!

But what I was taught in the 1st 15 minutes is that there is so much more to it than just fighting and fitness was a big issue!

So to warm up my trainer Steve turned to me and calum and said “right I want 500 punches swapping arm half way through” I just laughed as this was clearly a joke……….it wasn’t a joke.

After my first session was over my trainer told me we had done about 5000 punches and. 3000 kicks so as you can imagine I was physically drained! But my god didn’t it feel good!!! 🙂

After another two sessions I have learned about self discipline, more fitness (it does get easier) and we have started to lightly spar. It has provided me with more than I expected and that was just the free trial!

Emma hasn’t come to watch me yet so no pictures as of yet but soon I promise :).

I would recommend this to absolutely everyone as it doesn’t matter how big, small, large or tall you are everyone benefits from it!

I’m hoping to start doing my belts and working up the rankings but like i said there’s a lot to learn and take in so just taking it one step at a time!

Like I said it could easily suit most people and I would urge anyone even just thinking about it to go to just one lesson (as the first is usually free) and experience it as I’m 99% sure you will be back for the 2nd lesson! 🙂

The trouble a Cookie in a box kit can get you in. September 15, 2010

Ok now I know its been about 4 months since I last blogged and I apologise for that although I did have my reasons! one of the biggest being only having one laptop in the house to which methemanandthebaby uses a lot for uni work and blogging etc and there is only so many blogs you can write on an iphone as it doesn’t let you upload pictures or video’s to it.

But now after a few months of rest (or laziness which ever you like) im back! and hopefully to stay now im not going to promise a blog a day but im sure I can stick to a blog every other or every couple of days! 🙂

I should really write about everything I’ve been up to since I last blogged but if I did that then this could quite possibly be the longest post ever written!

so over the next couple of posts you may see a few blog flash backs just to keep you up to date with the goings on in my life!

So for today’s post I will take you back a little bit but not too far I think it was the week before last!

I was food shopping for something for tea when I get a text from Emma saying “get me stuff to make cookies with” so as im wandering round our local supermarket thinking what will she need?? and I find myself next to the “just add water packets”.

So me being me i picked up a flavour i though i would enjoy and ventured home with my ready to bake cookie kit and stuff for chicken enchiladas. when i got through the door I was bombarded with questions like “what did you get for tea” “did you get coke” & “why have you still got your shoes on?”.  after i had answered all of them (and taken my shoes off) I pulled out the ready to bake cookie mix……..she wasnt happy!

apparently its a form of cheating! and doesn’t taste as nice as when you bake them yourself! but nevertheless i managed to persuade her to use it. After we had eaten dinner Emma disappeared into the kitchen (whilst still cursing me for buying it) and began making the cookies.

After about 15 minutes she reappeared still scowling at me (but smelling quite nicely of cookie dough!)  and told me that they would be ready in about 20 minutes.

So after a quick go on Final Fantasy (I’m massively into it at the moment!) the cookies were taken out of the oven. As i was about to grab and devour one i was told they have to cool down………i felt like a small child waiting for them. i even considered stealing one when she wasn’t looking and running to the bedroom to eat it!

after another quick blast on FF i saw Em dissapear into the kitchen and shout “there ready!” like a shot i jumped off the sofa and ran to grab one.

I can honestly say they were AMAZING!  soft and chewy etc everything you want from a cookie!

Emma still wasnt impressed but deep down i know she enjoyed them! 🙂

i haven’t been allowed to buy them again since and Em has made her own batch a couple of times and although they are really yummy………there is just something about the packet mix that tickles my taste buds more! (it’s probably some chemicals or something!)

So my question is, is using packet cookie mix cheating? and is there a recipe out there that can trump a certain famous ladies boxed cookie mix if so can you let either me or Me, The Man And The Baby know!

Also im available for cookie tasting if you wish to send them to me 🙂

So there you have it my first blog of many more to come! including….. The Mads , Social Services, Butlins, Citroen DS3 Dsport, and much much more 🙂

Dont you love it when a plan comes together! July 1, 2010

Remember the other day I told you about the old bloke that that was shouting down the phone at me and calling me names?
Well the next day it pretty much happened again except this time is was a large Irish gentleman shouting at me insisting that we had damaged a car he had brought before his delivery company picked it up. Which just wasn’t possible!

His name was Bernard and his argument was that he had brought the car in good condition and when it arrived it had damage to it’s bumper and front grill (leading to think that it has gone into something.

I straight away insisted it was the transport company he used and that it was in good condition when it left me. Which he didn’t take very well saying that had been using them for 10 years and had never had any trouble blah blah Irish blah.

The problem I faced was proving my theory right and the fact that the delivery note that had been left by the driver when he picked the vehicle up had been misplaced didn’t help my cause.

So after a good 2 hours arguing via email I got in contact with the transport company they used. And at first they couldn’t be more helpful saying they would look into it and question the driver etc………well didn’t I fall for that one! After an hour of hearing nothing I phoned up and got a very rude man on the phone swearing his head off and calling me all sorts. The man turned out to be the owner of the company Liam.

He eventually agreed to send me a copy of the delivery note which he said the damage was marked on and my yard man had signed for.

Now anyone who uses fax machines will know that 99% of the time you will never get a good copy especially if there is a lot of information on the page and this was no different.

After receiving the fax I began to make heads and tails of it slowly making out the writing and trying to figure out what damage he had marked on (they tend to use code) but it was just to hard.

I then asked for the original copy to be sent to me with the promise of it’s return. To which I was greeted with a swift “no!!” which lead me to believe they where hiding something!

So with threats flying at me left and right from both companies I asked someone else to help me with my cause who sent an email trying to explain we could not entertain there complaint as it was quite obviously the transporter that had done the damage!

This didn’t go down very well either in fact it just made them more mad!
I was beginning to run out of options and if I didn’t sort something out soon we were going to either have to buy the car back of them or pay for the damage! (of course I didn’t let on this to them)

So as a last resort I got my minions in the office and had them tare it apart looking for the delivery note that was left (we had looked previously but with no luck) and after 30 minutes of ripping draws apart and rummaging through filing cabinets I heard the two words that made my day “found it!”

Now in front of me I had a clear colour delivery note and when I looked at it I couldn’t stop smiling I was able to crack the damage code and there wasn’t a single thing about the bumper or grill!

You see the copy they had sent me had a diagram that was really unclear and it was that diagram I needed to crack the code as each bit of damage they had put was represented by a number which corresponded to a part of the car to which this diagram shows! I then collected all of the evidence and made that very important phone call!

I’m not ashamed to admit it I actually built up bernards hopes before coming down upon him like a ton of bricks! Hitting him with all of the facts and even scanning (yes scanning something the Irish are yet to catch on to) our release note proving it he went very quiet and well actually I didn’t wait for his reply I simply ended on ” I know trust you are capable of sorting out this issue with yourself, I would like to be notified by lunchtime next Thursday (today) that the problem is sorted and so that we can address your account that is now currently on hold” yeah he didn’t really like that either.

I then had about the same conversation with the transport company and do you know what when I told Liam I had found our delivery note with the diagram on it he actually said “oh damn” he knew I was right all along! What a knob!

But after I had made those two phone calls I sat back in my chair ordered Calum to make coffee and smiled the rest of the afternoon away!

So lunchtime today came and up popped an email from Bernard saying that the problem had now been resolved and he everything was fine to which I replied ” I’m glad to hear that but I’m afraid your account is still on hold as we take accusations made against the company very seriously and your account is on hold pending a further investigation”
Of course this isn’t the case I could activate it in the click of a button but he put me through a lot of stress so it’s payback time!

One last point before I bore you to death is that I forgot to mention that he actually asked how old I was and I took the greatest amount of pleasure in informing him I was 21 and I was in control hehe.

Again this is being written on my iPhone (will the novelty ever where off) hehe.

So the other day I’m at work and it’s a case if same crap different day sort of thing when the phone rings.
I pick it up and say in my usual phone voice “good afternoon auction department Jon speaking” and I was greeted by a man who just by the sound of his voice I could tell was in his late 70s.
It then became clear that this gentleman was called tim from a company who I was dealing with and he didn’t sound happy!

So after a confusing 5 minutes I sort of started to understand what he was dribbling on about it turns out he thought I had sold a car to which I hadn’t and he had gone back to his boss and told him it was sold.
There was confusion because someone had asked me if £19500 would buy the car. So I asked tim the question and he said yea it would.

He obviously wet himself with excitement and thought that meant it was sold. But all it was, was someone showing interest. This he could not understand.

So I’ve got him on the phone and he’s getting madder and madder because I have an answer for everything. And then he snapped and and started calling me names and telling me I was useless etc to which I just stayed quiet and left him to it.

After a further 5 minutes of blaming me for his life problems he stopped and asked me why I had gone quiet and that answer was simply this ” your insults don’t effect me in the slightest as because you are considerably older than me this generally means you will die before me and as your lay in the ground being eaten by worms I will still be young enough to put on my best suit ,gel my hair perfectly, put on my best dancing shoes and do a jolly jig over you!”

Now of course I couldn’t say this to a client so my response was my usual ” leave it with me and I’ll see what I can do”
And you know what I sold that bloody car for £20000.

I guess what I’m trying to get at is that did he really have to throw insults at me for 10 minutes over the phone because he cocked up? Nu uh!

Anyway I came out with the last laugh as his boss phoned to thank me and instead if 10 minutes of insults I had 5 minutes of praise and he then said how useless tim was! Result!!

So this week hasn’t been the best week ever what with my last post but you have to focus on the positive things in life don’t you so here’s the post that was supposed to be written when I got back from sunny old Wales!

Ok firstly before we went away me and emma went to something called a conversation with heston which was amazing we learned all about his past, ideas for the future and just stuff in general. We were glued to our (front row) seats for a solid 90 minuets whilst this legend talked to us.

I tried to take loads of pictures but the lighting was awful and plus I only realised at the end that I had been taking them on the VGA setting so the quality was also awful!

And then came Wales.

We set off for north Wales near enough as soon as I got in from work on the Friday (as you can tell it was a little last minute) and arrived at about 9:30 which wasn’t bad.

We got the key for our caravany thing and ventured off to find it. When we did find it we wernt impressed ! It was small, smelt funny and there was rubbish in the cupboard so first thing next morning I went on a mission!

I stepped into reception and vented my anger in the direction of a poor receptionist and quite quickly got an upgrade …….*result* hehe.

So with our new palace-like caravany thing we were happy. And went of exploring the local towns etc and also the beach.
The town we spent the most time in was called Rhyl which was a really nice seaside town with plenty of shops and fun things to do. And when we returned we went on the beach which was about 75 steps from our caravany thing!

After about an hour of beach events such as sand castle making and paddling we made our way back but oli decided he wanted one last paddle so ran into a large puddle swiftly followed by emma shouting “oli get back here!”

The next scene of events nearly killed me through laughter!

Emma ran in after him lost both flip flops then grabbed a very wet oli turned and screamed “aaaaaaah jellyfish” she didn’t know where to turn she got her flip flops and tried to run away but lost them again so left them screaming at me to get them and being met by my reply of “hell no you just said jellyfish your on your own” still whilst laughing a lot *snigger*

After that we just chilled out on and around the park.
It was really good to get away and just what we both needed!

So there you have it folks a more upbeat post about happy/good times.

Oh and yesterday I finally got an iPhone thanks to my lovely OH hehe and I’ve just written this while post on it yaaaaay iPhones hehe anyway cheers for all of your kind words in the past few days.

Todays post was supposed to be a happy one about my recent adventures to Wales and also when i went to see Heston but i woke yesterday morning and checked out facebook (how you do) and saw a message that literally stopped me in my tracks i almost fell to the ground when i read it.

it was just a simple wall message from of my friends to another so nothing unusual about that but as i read the comment i began to realise this wasnt just any old message and my deepest fear was confirmed when the message ended in “i hope you rest in peace”. I couldn’t talk I could barely even move I managed to click onto her FB page and saw a load of other similar messages and my heart sank and a tear ran down my cheek.

Before i even saw concrete evidence it already became apparent she was no longer with us. I got as far as a comment from her  brother stating she had died on saturday whilst in Thailand with no specific details apart from thanking people for the kind messages.

After leaving my own little message (it wasnt a lot as i was still in shock) I finalised my getting ready for work routine and set off. After about 5 minutes of driving my mind started to wonder and of course I began thinking about her, I began thinking about all of the things we had talked about and all the things i wish I could say to her now like how she is such a great friend and how I often took her for granted and that im also sorry i never got the chance to say goodbye before she left for Thailand.

I first met her when i worked at a garden centre near where i live and we got off to a great start just chatting away about everything.

From then on we became near enough best friends! although there was a period where we didn’t we only communicated via txt/msn just because our lives where too hectic to meet up but we managed to catch each other now and again.

The biggest regret i have about her is not saying goodbye when she left to go traveling, this is because A. I hate saying goodbyes and B. she broke her phone so she didn’t get my text saying it anyway.

and now I guess it’s too late to say ” see ya later have a great time!” the only time I have to say goodbye now is when she is lay in a coffin at the front of a church.

previously i have said that i was a believer of the belief that everything happens for a reason but this has now put a great deal of doubt in that as how can anyone justify taking someone like Becky she never did anything bad towards anyone!

So as much as it hurts every time something reminds me of her i know life has to go on but she will always have a place in my head where i will remember the good times we had!

RIP Becky Callaghan

I recently visited a friend who works for a food delivery company and as i was leaving he asked if i wanted anything out of his fridge at first i thought this was a bit of an odd question but when i opened it up i was greeted by bottles of milk, tubs of butter pasties, microwave burgers, cheese, cheese spread and there was just packs and packs of the stuff!

It was obvious he was getting it from work (What a great perk!) and it didn’t stop there he took me through to his conservatory where he had crates of energy drinks, milkshakes ready to go into the fridge, squash, juice and lots more!

Safe to say i was taking him up on his offer! i came away with: –

  • 3 packs of bacon
  • 2 packs of sausages
  • a crate of energy drink (about 40 cans)
  • 3 packs of squirty cheese
  • 3 packs of cheese spread
  • 1 pack of cheese
  • 5 pepporarmies
  • 6 microwavable snacks
  • 2 pints of milk
  • 2 milkshakes

Not bad for free eh?

So now he’s offered his services when ever i need anything! how good is that! and theres so much more he can get like bread, eggs etc.

So after coming home with my bags of goodies i went about putting them in the fridge & freezer and its only when i stood back and had a look i realised how much stuff he had given me! take a look for yourself!

Haha see its a lot!

Now im trying to do this post so it doesnt sound like a meme as that wasnt the idea behind it! but if you feel the urge to announce how your fridge is looking then dont fight it let the world know if yours looks as strange as mine! 🙂 or if you have a super healthy lettuce leaf and bottle of water type fridge 🙂

Just on a quick random note you would not belive how long it has taken me to write this post! damn Coronation Street! and your twisted distractions! even though in the back of my mind i knew what was going to happen i still felt i had to watch it oh and wait gail has just been found…….(writing this in real-time lol)………OH YOUR JOKING im sure they were supposed to announce that tonight oh well that just spoilt the lot i was half expecting to see Tony sat in the jury! haha anyway enough random ramblings from me hope you have enjoyed and if not ~(and you have a blog about finding the right dentist??? yeah strange i know) then you can shove your comments up your arse! 🙂

Happy days
